| Time for Tea
The inaugural Hong Kong International Tea Fair focuses on a very vibrant sector of the food and beverage industry - and one in which Hong Kong plays a pivotal role. Taking place concurrently with the acclaimed annual HKTDC Food Expo, the fair offers an international sourcing platform for tea and tea-related products from major producers including the Chinese mainland, Kenya, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and more.
Tea connoisseurs
Hong Kong's inhabitants love to drink tea and have the highest tea consumption among all Asian cities at 1,360 grams per capita - twice the world's average. This means that there is high appreciation and awareness of tea in Hong Kong. Thanks to its position as a cultural crossroads, both Chinese-style and Ceylon-style teas are popular in the city.
